The water filter is made from Sterasyl ceramic, the filter is fitted with an activated carbon block insert to produce the Ultracarb filter element. Activated carbon is very effective at removing chlorine and organics from water. Ultracarb has a feature of heavy metal reduction media which takes out toxic lead.
